The song starts with the voice of a woman who speaks. She speaks creole. She speaks Tshokwe. She speaks Portuguese. On stage, three bodies, and three women are portrayed as foreigners, speaking these three languages. In each woman, an essence, a personality, and a journey intertwined, with the certainty that nothing will be the same. In this Black Dawn, we look for the origins and the deepest roots of these cultures, by celebrating their legacy and defining a path where we assert ourselves as protagonists of our own stories.

Aurora Negra has been in circulation since 2020 and has already been presented in several cities in Portugal, Brazil, Germany, Cape Verde, and Angola.

Cleo Diára, Isabél Zuaa, Nádia Yracema

Aurora Negra is the collective created by Cleo Diára, Isabél Zuaa and Nádia Yracema. The three graduated from ESTC (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema) and followed a path of interpretation and creation for Theater and Cinema, nationally and internationally. The project was born to create a space where they could tell their stories with their own narratives, fictions, voices, and bodies, celebrating their ancestry in all forms. Since 2020 they have created the shows Aurora NegraCosmos, and Missão da Missão. Additionally, they assume the curatorship of the Kilombo Program, presented at Alkantara in 2021 and at the Alkantara Festival 2023.
